I look back at my 12 year Honey career, and I’m grateful to have been part of it, inspired by the true financial empowerment of women and excited about what lies ahead.

I am living out my passion and purpose by sharing our Honey business opportunity. Honey has changed my life and can change yours too, join a family of phenomenal women today!

I joined Honey Fashion Accessories because I had fallen in love with the handbags.

I first saw Honey from my aunt and I used to order from her (we are miles apart) which made me receive my orders very late.

But when I saw an advert on Facebook to join Honey I didn’t hesitate.

It’s been 3 months now with Honey and I have recruited about 5 other Honeybees to join this amazing opportunity.

I’ve made it to the Top 10 sellers with my first order to Honey. I can’t wait to learn more about the business and opportunities that lay ahead.

How it started with just Delivery of one plastic yep.

Guys remember I once told u that I never owned Honey Shoes when I started, I could not afford them when I first started yep 😭

Yet I loved the product so much, the quality it’s amazing and I knew for a product to be operating for such a number of years then there is a market out there that will buy ❤️

The dryness of my pockets did not stop me from selling this high-end quality, in fact, that pushed me to sell more so I could afford 👌👌

For about 2 years I struggled to keep still in the small box I found myself boxed in by my mind, this was from 2016 to 2017 that’s when I considered Hustling.

I was operations manager at a financial service industry and I thought the only way to earn more was to open myself up for more responsibilities within the company and that same would be rewarded. I came in early, did my best and left late to get things done. As much as I thought I was doing this for my kids, they were the ones suffering the most (always the last one’s to be collected from daycare, tired and hungry and I would still have to get home cook, help with homework, bath and still have to wake them up early the next morning) this routine dawned on me that it could not be the life I want for them.

I remember walking into my bosses office (the FD) early Jan 2018 and telling him how I feel underpaid and would like them to review my salary and consider me for an adjustment because at the rate that the annual increases were administered I would never get to my desired income by the age of 40 and this would mean I would not be able to afford to take all my kids (then 6) through high school to tertiary should they wish to study further after Matric (my husband did not have a stable job during that time so things were rather stretched financially).

I remember my boss leaning against his chair and his question was “Pearl.. look around you where would you like to go? because certainly my office is already occupied so are the other 2” he says this whilst pointing at the CEO and Credit & Risk Director’s offices (all glass offices and you can see all around you if in any office within our building). My heart sank with disappointment, I was asking for an increase not to change positions (I walked out of there puzzled with all that just took place)

When I got home I kept running the incident from my boss’s office over and over trying to make sense of it, then I realized this man says I have reached a ceiling, this man says I am stuck, this man says there is no future for me here if I am striving for more, the operational incidents that took place 2 months thereafter and how my employers went about handling them were the definite nail to the coffin. It was May 2018 when I walked into my boss’s office and handed over my resignation, against my husband’s wishes, my boss was shocked (he refused to accept my resignation saying I must think it over) it was Friday and he suggested we talk again on Monday. I walked away.

For me there was nothing to think about my mind was already made up, the crazy thing was I had no other job lined up, but I knew another corporate job will not do it for me because I would eventually find myself in this very same situation. Because of my role I gave them 2 months notice (during which staff was pleading with me to reconsider) to date I am told my position was never replaced.

Sometimes you have to do the most difficult and unthinkable to get to the other side of where you want to be and where you should be. Fear of the unknown is the enemy not the people who kicked you out of your comfort zone, those people are the reason you are where you are today.
Thank you that my boss did not give me the salary adjustment I wanted, thank you for his response that made me furiously mad at the time but opened my eyes, thank you to the incidents that occurred thereafter leading to my resignation because I would still be operations manager today (looking at the past 3 years) with not much annual increases and bonuses… Yoooh guys…. I am happy with my current status quo, it has not been an easy journey but it was totally worth it.
